By using digitalisation as a quality feature, the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development defines a quality label for a value-based, sustainable and forward-looking development cooperation.

The quality feature is consistently taken into account for all measures. The sustainability objectives can only be achieved with new digital technologies. We want to help people in developing countries, business, civil society, science and the political decision-makers take advantage of the opportunities of the digital revolution and competently overcome the risks. This particularly involves the digitalisation of the services provided by all the implementing organisations. The quality feature aims to ensure the implementation of the concept of “digital by default” and in line with the digital strategy of the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development.

Digital will be the standard that projects use to achieve their goals. The possibilities of digital technologies are considered and implemented from the very beginning – where this is prudent and efficient.
