Digital tools give women and girls worldwide access to education, online platforms create new economic opportunities and social networks serve as a platform for social change: these developments show the growing importance of technologies to promote a gender-equitable digital transformation.
A BMZ-funded study conducted by betterplace lab on behalf of GIZ highlights what urgent steps are needed to close the digital gender gap and what important role a feminist approach plays in this. With the “3 Rs” approach of feminist development policy – rights, resources and representation – women and girls in all their diversity and marginalised groups can be empowered.
