The Digital Public Goods Alliance (DGPA) has gained one more member. At the end of May, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) announced that it had joined the multi-stakeholder initiative, which works to achieve the SDGs by promoting digital public goods. These goods include open source software, open data, and transparent artificial intelligence models.
By joining, FAO aims to sustain its digital engagement and influence the food and agriculture ecosystem to improve conditions for the use of digital public goods in the long term. Specifically, FAO will, among other things, co-chair a new Community of Practice focused on food security.
