From 16 to 20 February 2026, the AI Impact Summit will take place in New Delhi, India – one of the world’s most important events on responsible artificial intelligence (AI). The summit brings together high-level representatives from politics, the private sector, international organisations and civil society and is dedicated to human-centred, inclusive and sustainable AI.

Building on existing international processes – including the Hamburg Declaration on Responsible AI for Achieving the SDGs – the focus is on concrete implementation in the context of development policy. Organised by the Indian Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, this will be the first time the AI Impact Summit has been held in the Global South.

The summit addresses key issues for the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), such as poverty reduction, climate, health and education. The BMZ is participating in several sessions and contributing its own events to the international exchange through GIZ.
