Fostering applied research activities for innovation and economic growth
Collaborations between universities and industry is important for the promotion of innovation and information exchange. Although the number of collaborations has increased worldwide, there is still a huge potential in developing countries. Reasons are insufficient research and development capacities, different levels of knowledge, lack of funding or administrative hurdles.
The Digital Transformation Center (DTC) Kosovo has developed financial instruments to promote applied research activities of universities in partnership with the private sector, especially for companies of micro, small and medium size:

Implementation of a capacity building and awareness raising programme, with modules like R&D models and benefits, writing of proposals for research and innovation funding programmes, development and execution of individual and institutional research plans, publishing of research work or intellectual property protection.
